One of the main differences between Virgin Coconut oil and refined coconut oil is the scent, taste and the nutritional value. Our Virgin Coconut Oil retains the fresh scent and taste of coconuts along with its nutritional value, whereas the copra-based refined coconut oils have no taste at all due to the refining process.
Our Virgin coconut oil is known for its nice fragrance, taste, antioxidants, medium chain fatty acids (MCFA), and vitamins, among other things. Virgin coconut oil has a very good taste and smell, like that of fresh coconuts, since it is derived from fresh coconuts and is subjected to very low, if not totally nil, heat and sunlight. It is also not refined. This preserves all the natural goodness of this oil, including a high content of vitamin-E and minerals, which are otherwise almost completely robbed from ordinary coconut oil during processes like heating, filtration, refining, and bleaching, which are done to make it colourless and odourless. Furthermore, virgin coconut oil is very effective as a moisturizing agent. Its antioxidant properties are far better than those of normal coconut oil.
Populations that promote the consumption of coconut tend to be healthier than most. As a matter of fact, in certain parts of the world where coconut is a main part of their diet, there is no evidence of heart disease.
As well as consuming it, the oil can also be used externally to protect your hair, moisturise your skin and even works as a sunscreen, blocking 20% of the sun’s rays.
